We were visited by reps from the award who put reports on each nominated project before a panel of judges who decided on the final three to be put forward for a public vote via The Derbyshire Times. We made it to the final three and here's what the judges said about The Root And Branch: Mastin Moor Allotment and Garden Group :-
'The project is an example of a valuable community resource, offering peer support and meaningful outdoor exercise to people experiencing mental health difficulties. The project has integrated with the community garden next door with which they have been accepted and not stigmatised................................ The judging panel received many varied applications from a wide range of groups which made the judging a difficult task. The judging panel were extremely impressed with how this project met the criteria of the Award and also noted the commitment, enthusiasm and dedication of the volunteers that support this project in engaging with the wider community.
