An Average Day In The Crisis Area
The day will be centred on the fundamentals of human existence, getting, preparing and cooking food, washing clothes etc, discussing problems/issues, story telling, singing/music making, art/craft, 'ritual' and community. Food, drinking water and fire wood will be collected each day from the Health And Well-Being area. Cooking and food preparation will be done in the central gathering area/yurt on an open fire and clay oven. The open fire will be an important central feature. Most of us have experienced how comforting an open fire can be, at home or in the pub etc. A fire asks to be gathered around, encourages contemplation and discourse and is soothing. When the fire is outdoors somehow something more is added, it appeals to a part of our inner being that links us all, it is fundamental to what makes us what we are and takes us back to the dawning of humanity.
Individuals in the heights of mania/psychosis will be encouraged to stay in the main Crisis Area or a part of the woodland 'out of bounds' to all except those in the Crisis Community or invited visitors. Those on the road to recovery may spend some of the day in the main Health and Well-Being area or woodland, taking part in the activities on offer there, or going further afield – trips walking, in countryside/wilderness, into town or visiting family/friends, accompanied if necessary.
